Miracle product: Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream

For the past few years I have been suffering from terribly dry skin all over my body- but most recently this has been most prominent on my face.

I made several trips to the doctors, tried and tested multiple creams; ointments, tablets and made changes to my diet in case food allergens were causing changes to my skin - but nothing seemed to work.

Being a woman, one of the most important things to boost confidence is good skin. I had no self confidence for a long time, some days I felt like I shouldn't leave the house in case people stared at my red, blotchy skin.

In July 2013, after reading numerous reviews about the miracle that is Elizabeth Arden's 8 Hour Cream, I was still skeptical about whether the feedback I was reading was in fact true. Regardless, I traveled to the nearest stockist and purchased the product.

All I can say is that the product is true to its name - I applied the gel like serum onto my face that evening. The cream felt instantly soothing on my skin when applied. The next morning I nearly cried with happiness as my skin felt moisturised and looked radiant again.

The combination of skin soothing ingredients including Petrolatum and vitamin E relieved and moisturised my chapped and cracked skin caused by eczema. It also dramatically reduced the look and feel of roughness and combated abrasions which has prevented skin infections. Not to forget the creams power to de- redden!

If you're like me, please don't keep suffering with your skin and using medical creams from your doctor that don't make a difference - try the 8 hour cream - I promise you won't be disappointed!

The cream now comes in two forms, The Original and Fragrance Free. Whilst I do not mind the smell of the original cream, I understand it has quite a distinct smell that some people would be hesitant about applying to their face.

Both creams are priced at £25 (50ml) from Boots which might seem a lot of money but as you only need a pea sized amount per application you can imagine how long the product can last.

As well as applying the cream to my face, I also find it great for a number of other purposes.

Carrying the product in my bag makes it easy to moisturise dried areas around my nails and cuticles to ensure my hands remain super soft in this cold weather!

I also love to create a dewy finish to my make up by applying a small amount of product under my eyebrows; the most prominent areas of my cheek bones, inner corners of my eyes and a thin layer over my lips to give a glossy effect that compliments any skin tone.

I also find it really useful for those bad hair days when your static or windswept hair needs taming!

On a final note, I would like to thank Elizabeth Arden for creating such a wonderful product and for helping my find my confidence again. I am sure this product will be a staple item for the rest of my life and I am so excited to try out more products from the Elizabeth Arden line starting with the lip protectant.

As always, I love to hear from you. If you're a fan of Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour cream I'd love to hear how you use it too.
